QUOTA CHANGE CAUSES SHARP RISE'

The price-of rubber rose sharply aj a result of the international committee's decision to cut the quota to 60 per cent. The spot quotation is 7Jd ■' a lb and the April-June quotation 7 5-Bd.

Shares in the leading companies were also marked up, otherwise the markets remain abnormally quiet, except gilt-edged stocks, which continue to improve.
