POSITION AT PAHIATUA

PAHIATUA, January 25.

Mr. J. A. Lee, Under-Secretary in Charge of Housing, and Mr. A. Tyndall, Director of Housing Construction, visited Pahiatua yesterday and gave an- undertaking that the .construction of a dozen houses would begin as soon as a reasonable tender was received from the contractors.

Mr. Lee, commenting on the trouble previously experienced, said the building would be done at a reasonable price. He also deprecated thej objections made by towns where the department was trying to help. He would push ahead the scheme whenever he received co-operation.
