This was dressed and donated by Mrs. Andrew Fleming, of Mansfield Street. Ellerslie Frocks. Glorious weather greeted the second day of the Auckland Racing Club's Great Northern Steeplechase Meeting at Ellerslie on Wednesday, says the "New Zealand Herald," and this, combined with the fact that the day was a public holiday, attracted many thousands of race enthusiasts to the course. In spite of the sunshine, there was a cool tang- in the air, and fur coats and heavy cloth C6ats were again popular. There is a vogue at present for fur capes, and of these there were some exceedingly handsome models to be seen, while silver fox furs were also worn by a large number of women. Black gave place to brrwn for popularity of colour yesterday, and. as this has such a variation of shades, the general effect was brighter than on Saturday. The aew, attractive petrel blue was to be seen in quite a number of suits, ensembles, and hats, while gay colour notes were given by the woollen jumpers worn with some of the suits.S
