Seven valuable stud Southdown ewes were worried by dogs and died on Tuesday afternoon on Mr. P. Drummond's farm at Puketapu. Mr. Drummond fortunately arrived on the scene in time to catch the two dogs concerned, otherwise his loss would have been much greater. '

Mr. Drummond had his 3D stud ewes, which were due to lamb in August, in a paddock adjacent to the road.
