S.A. WAR VETERANS

SIXTH CONTINGENT REUNION

The Sixth New Zealand Contingent (South Africa) huld its annual reunion dinner and smoke concert on Tuesday evening in Wellington. There was a muster of about 50 of all ranks, and, as has been usual for 20 years, there were four "first offenders." that is, men who have never attended a reunion since its inception 35 years ago. After the loyal toast, the chairman (Trooper J. Linklater) welcomed members and expressed pleasure at seeing so many visitors from as far south as Dunedin and as far north.as Auckland.

A series of lantern slides of pictures on the veldt 37 years ago created much interest, and a talk by Trooper Armstrong on the activities of the Sixth on trek, with map illustrations, was much appreciated.

Items during the evening were contributed by Colonel Evatt, Sergeant Taylor, and Troopers J. T. Martin. MeEwen, Burns. McColl, and Wright.
