DIFFICULTIES OF REHEARSAL.
Leonora Corbett, the talented English actress, was labouring under painful difficulties during the rehearsal for Lionel Brown's production of "To Have and To Hold." She was swathed in bandages after a motor accident, but turned up at the "Q" Theatre daily to take part. The opening night was deferred a week to allow her to thoroughly recover. Besides being the producer, A. R. Whatmore played one of the chief parts; other colleagues of Miss Corbett included Jane Baxter and Kenneth Kent (fresh from his excellent characterisation of Napoleon in the play "St. Helena," and more recently as Beethoven in the Arthur Watkyn play "Muted Strings". Miss Baxter was also in "Muted Strings." playing Guiletta Guicciardi, the object of Beethoven's affection. Mr. Whatmore produced "Dusty Ermine" at the Arts Theatre, London, with Miss Corbett in the leading role; her part in the film version was taken by Miss Baxter.
