CHEERFUL GATHERING
RETURNED SOLDIERS MEET
Gay decorations and that spirit of camaraderie, which usually characterises gatherings of returned soldiers, made a cheery affair of the dance held in the Rex Hall, Kilbirnie, last evening by the Hataitai Auxiliary of the Returned Soldiers' Association. This, the first dance of the season to be held by the auxiliary, ' fully repaid the efforts of the large cdmmittee if success is to be measured in terms of enjoyment. The programme included many -of the oldtime favourites as well as modern dances, music to suit each number being played by an excellent orchestra. A "crown-and-anchor" Monte Carlo novelty dance. was won by Mr. and Mrs. J. Wilson. Extras were played by Mr. J. Matthews.
The dance committee comprised Messrs. G. Miles (chairman), H. Biss (secretary), N. Woods, F. Aveling, P. Thompson, P. Hepburn, J. H. Mackay, H. Harris, and the ladies' committee Mesdames H. R. Biss, A. J. Nimmo, N. Woods, H. E. Avery, G. Miles, H. R. Baigent, F. Aveling, and J. H.'Mackay.
