CAPE TOWN, June 8.

The "Cape Argus" caused a sensation by alleging that South Africa's contribution to the Empire Coronation Day broadcast was faked.

The paper states that the roars of lions from Kruger Park were actually the recorded roars of Samson, a pet lion in the Pretoria Zoo, and also that the supposed speeches by a miner speaking Afrikaans and of a Natal sugar planter were broadcast by local men from Cape Town. '
