KUGBY, June 7,

The Ministry of Labour estimates that at May 24 the number of insured persons in employment in Great Britain, exclusive of persons within the agricultural scheme, was approximately 11387,000 This was 7000 less than a month before, but 469,000 more than a year ago. At the same date the numbers of registered unemployed in Great Britain were 1,450,340, comprising 1,173,802 wholly unemployed, 207,228 temporarily laid off, and 70,300 normally in casual employment. This was 3113 less than at April 19 and 253,712 less than at May 25, 1936.
