FLYGER CUP GAME
PROPOSED BEFORE TEST
FIXTURES
As a curtain-raiser to the third Test match between England and New Zealand, to be -played at Athletic" Park on June 26, the Wellington Football Association is endeavouring to arrange a game between Wellington and Auckland representatives, under 21, for the Flyger Cup. These contests have always provided fast and skilful foot-' ball, and it is thought that there could be no. better early game for the Test. At last night's meeting of the management committee of the association, over which Mr. W. B. Hicks presided, the secretary (Mr. W. J. Arcus) was instructed to write to Auckland and try to arrange for the Flyger Cup game. Mr. A. E. Powers took his seat for the first time as representative of the Inter-house Association, and was welcomed by the chairman. It was reported that two Tramways teams had been formed and would be available to play against Training College. The first game w.ill be played tomorrow. Mr. R. Gilpin, primary schools representative, reported that following the representations of Messrs. B. A. Mabin and J. Meltzer, the Wellington Headmasters' Association's ban on schoolboys playing Soccer on Saturdays had been lifted. The transfers were granted of R. Ward from Institute Old Boys to Waterside; H. Laracy from Marist first A to Marist first B division; H. Costley from Lower Hutt first. B to second B division; A. H. Hodson from Waterside to Institute Old Boys; R. White from Institute Old Boys to Technical Old Senior fixtures for Saturday week, June 19, were approved as follows:— First A Division, 2.45 p.m.—Seatoun v: Petone, at Basin Reserve No. 1; Marist 0.8. v. Institute 0.8., at Kelburn Park: Hospital v. Technical 0.8., at Hospital (2.30 p.m.); Diamond v. Waterside, at Basin Reserve No. 2. First B Division, 2.45 p.m.—Lower ■Putt v. Miramar Rangers, at Hutt Recreation Ground; Onslow v. Nada, at Anderson Park No. 1; Korokoro v. Swifts, at Petone; Wadestown v. Scottish Wanderers, at Wakefield Park No.
