CLEAN SCHOOL
The matter of the correspondence in the Press relating to the cleanliness of schools was mentioned at the meeting of Karori householders last night, and regret was expressed that the cudgels had not been taken up on behalf of the Karori School. One householder expressed the opinion that the school was a model' of cleanliness, and thanks should be expressed by the meeting at the work of the cleaner,. The headmaster stated "that the rooms of the school were the cleanest he had ever taught in, and he could find no adjective fitting enough to describe the superlative qualities of the cleaner's work. A vote of, thanks was carried with acclamation.
The Fire Brigade received a call at 5.51 p.m. yesterday to an outbuilding of wood and' iron construction owned by Mr. J. W. Lyon, at 28 Aparima Avenue, Miramar. The outbreak was suppressed with slight damage to building and contents.
A verdict that -William John Easson, aged 47, a timber-yard foreman employed by the Evans Bay Timber Company, died at his home at Miramar on June 4 as a result of heart failure was given by the Coroner, Mr. E. Gilbertson, at an inquest today.
