Warm tributes to his able services to the ratepayers of Manawatu County were paid to Mr. W. E. Barber, retiring chairman, at yesterday's annual meeting of the council, when he was unanimously re-elected. Mr. Barber has occupied the chair for ten years. He i- shortly to take a holiday trip to the East.
