STAFF DANCES

A BUSY WEEK

GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENTS

A cheery crowd of dancers assembled at the Mayfair Cabaret on Saturday for the annual staff dance of the National Provident, Friendly Societies, and Government Actuary's, and Superannuation Departments.

Balloons in Coronation colours were hung in' gay clusters at intervals round the walls and bowls of flowers were displayed on the small brightly-painted tables. Supper was served in the lounge room, which had been artistically decorated with Iceland poppies. An exhibition dance was given by Mr Jim Cottier and Miss Iris Wakeford, who demonstrated the slow foxtrot and the quickstep. The official party comprised Mrs. Lee Martin, Miss Martin, Mr. R. Sinel (Registrar and Superintendent), Mrs/ Sinel, Miss H. Sinel, Mr. "J. J. O'Gorman (senior supervisor), and Mrs. O'Gorman.
