BIBLE SOCIETY

WORK OF COLLECTORS

A meeting of the collectors of the Kelburn branch of the British and Foreign Bible Society was held at "Waitohi," the home of the president (Mrs/ Garni Wilson). Owing to the temporary absence of four collectors from Wellington, Mrs. Duff and Misses Storwell an'l Williams undertook the extra work and were warmly thanked by the president. The following new collectors were heartily welcomed: —Mesdames Gorringe, Walter Thomson, and Trevithick. The secretary (Mrs. Singleton) announced the list for the year as follows:—Mesdames Holdsworth, George Thompson, Lea, Gorringe, Walter Thomson, Trevithick, Dufr, and Garni Wilson; Misses Holmes, Troup, Davidson, Buckeridge, Williams, and Stowell.

The president expressed deep appreciation of the services of those who had acted as collectors for many years. The organising secretary; speaking upon the work of the society, specially stressed the work of the translators and of the colporteurs.

The president entertained all to afternoon tea, and received a hearty vote of thanks for her hospitality.
