SODDEN TRACKS
GALLOPS AT WINGATUI
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
DUNEDIN, This Day.
The final gallops at Wingatui were carried out on tracks that did not permit the watch to be used. The tracks were in a very sloppy state, and most of the trainers were content to-let their horses run along at three-quarter pace.
Golden Lap schooled attractively over a couple of hurdles, showing that he could handle heavy going well. Shillelagh Wood, with V. Langford up, who will ride her in the Otago Steeplechase tomorrow, jumped two rounds of the schooling fences well. Her performance must bring her into favour. Chrysology' schooled well over two hurdles, and Toreador out jumped The Surgeon. The following horses appeared .to handle tlie going' well:—Bonny Buff, Double Gift, Made Money, Trisox, Signaller, Alma, Araboa, Hanlon, Burglar, Shillelagh Wood, Cintilla, Half Note, Streamline, Baltruin,' and Hunting Go.
