OBITUARY
MR. JOHN SMITH

INVERCARGILL, June 7.
The death occurred at Wyndham on Sunday of Mr. John Smith, aged 67, one of the leading figures in the dairy industry in New Zealand. At the time of his death he was chairman of directors of the South Island Dairy Association. For eight years Mr. Smith was a director of the New Zealand Producers' Marketing Association. He was director and chairman of the Oware Dairy Factory Company for many years, and also took a keen interest in the Farmers' Union, having held the position of president of the Wyndham branch. He leaves a family of four sons and six daughters. His wjfe died some years ago.
