NORTH ISLAND SUPPLY

TEMPORARY ARRANGEMENT

GREYMOUTH, This Day.

It was announced this morning by Mr. J. W. Callwell. representing the West Coast Sawmillers' Association, that as a result of a conference of millers with the Minister of Industries and Commerce (the Hon. D. G. Sullivan) and the Commissioner of State Forests (the Hon. F. Langstone) a temporary arrangement had been reached in regard to the' price of white pine supplied to the North Island. The arrangement will enable the production of white pine on the West Coast to proceed normally.

Mr. Callwell paid a tribute to the Ministers for the painstaking manner in which they had discussed the probilem at the conference.
