PHYSICAL TRAINING

NOT NECESSARY FOR BOYS

CHIEF SCOUT ON HEALTH

FOR YOUTH

LONDON, June 4,

The World Chief Scout, Lord BadenPowell of Gilwell, at the dinner of the 1900 Club, attacked physical regimentation of youth. "There'is no reason for gymnasia," he said. • "The finest men I ever met had no gymnasia but plain food and plenty of outdoor exercise. We are trying to inflict physical training on poor boys who are not very well fed. It is not the right way of developing a strong, healthy nation."
