LEADERSHIP OF YOUTH

In order to relieve the apparent shortage in the churches and kindred bodies of young men who are capable of undertaking the leadership of bays and youths, the Wellington V.M.C.A. is commencing a Youth Leaders' Training Institute. . The course of training for this year,' covering the period June 18 to October 15, is intended riot only to provide a means of personal development for the trainees, but to give intensive training along certain of the specialised lines of approach to modern youth. The course, consisting of lectures and demonstrations, will be held on Fridays from 7to 9.50 p.m. The curriculum will include the following subjects: (1) Understanding the modern boy, and approach to boy psychology, lecturer, the Rev. H W. Newell, M.A., 8.D., (2) the, religious leadership of youth; Bible class techniques, lecturer, Mr. M. A. Tremewan; (3), the principles and practice of club organi-, sation, social and recreational games, public speaking, lecturer, Mr. Len J. Greenberg; (4) physical training, recreational play, anatomy, lecturer, Mr. J. F. Hanna. The course will represent the first of its kind in Wellington and will commence on June 19, provided a sufficient number of trainees is forthcoming. There is a small fee to cover expenses for those who are not members of the V.M.C.A.
