STAFF AND COMMANDS

His Excellency the Governor-General has approved of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, resignations and retirements of officers of tns New Zealand Military Forces:— Major L. Potter, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Staff Officer-in-Charge No. 4 Regimental District, Brigade Major, Ist N.Z. Mounted Rifles Brigade, Adjutant, Ist Battalion, the Waikato Regiment, and Area Officer, Area 4b, Hamilton, and is appointed temporarily General Staff Officer, Northern Command, Auckland. Captain^G.' Dittmer, M.8.E., M.C.. N.Z. Staff Corps, is appointed Staff Officer-in-Charge (temp.), No. 4 Regimental District, Adjutant, Ist Battalion. the Waikato Regiment, and Area Officer, Area 4b, Hamilton. Dated May 3 1937 ' Captain A. Bongard. M.C., N.Z. Start Corps, relinquishes the appointments of Adjutant, Ist Battalion, the Hawke's Bay Regiment, and Area Officer, Area 7a, Napier, dated April 28, 1937, and is appointed Staff Officer-in-Charge (temp.) No. 6 Regimental District, Adjutant, the Manawatu Mounted Rifles, and Area Officer 6b, Palmerston North. Dated April 29, 1937. Captain G. M. McCaskill, N.Z. Stall Corps, relinquishes the appointments of Staff Officer-in-Charge (temp.) No. 6 Regimental District, Adjutant, the Manawatu Mounted Rifles, and Area Officer Area 6b, Palmerston North, dated April 28, 1937, and is appointed Adjutant, Ist Battalion, the Hawke's Bay Regiment, and Area Officer, Area 7a. Napier, dated April 29, 1937. Lieutenant-Colonel C. L. Knight, M.C.,' the Hauraki Regiment, relinquishes command of the Ist Battalion, and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 1. Dated May 10, 1937. .

The period of command of Major D. A.-Carty. 15th Heavy Battery, N.Z.A., is extended to May 14, 1938.

Major-General Sir William L. H. Sin-clair-Burgess, K.8.E., C.8., C.M.G., D.5.0., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (a). Dated April 1, 1937. ..-,.,,
