Franklin, welcomed the guests, and intimated that it was the desire of the committee to meet the mothers, and with their co-operation to make the socials monthly functions. Games, items, and competitions were enjoyed by all. Mrs. A. H. Coombeu was warmly applauded for her elocutionary items, and the competitions were keenly entered into, the prizewinners being Mrs. Kennedy, Mrs. Holland, Mrs. Henry, and Mrs. Smith. An appetising home-made supper was handed round.
Votes of thanks were passed to Mrs. Gorton for her hospitality, and to the committee, the social terminating with the singing of "Auld Lang Syne."
