PERSONAL NOTES
Mrs. E. C. Kirk, Petone, is spending a few days with her daughter, Mrs. D. W. Hursthouse, Hastings. Mrs. Hugohin and her sister, Miss Bullen, Kaikoura, are visiting Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. Lan Gordon are Hastings visitors to Wellington. Mrs. B. Vinsen, Wellington, with her husband, is visiting Christchurch, and is staying at the Hotel Federal. Mr. and Mrs. W. Rathbone, Waipawa, are paying a brief visit to Wellington. Miss Joan Downey, Hawera. is spending a holiday in Wellington. Mrs. Brook-Taylor, Eltham, has .returned home from a visit to Wellington. . . Miss Moss, Rongotai, will leave today by the Van Rees for a tour of the East, and will be away for about two months.. Miss Eileen Congreve, Wellington, has left for Auckland, where she will remain until after the races. Mrs. D. Sinclair Murchison, Christchurch, is spending a short holiday in Wellington. Mrs. F. Higginson, Whangarei, is spending a holiday in Wellington. Captain J. Davies and Mrs. Davies, Wellington, have returned home after a short holiday spent in Auckland and Rotorua. Miss Dorothy Boyce, Wellington, is visiting Auckland. The first European to graduate in medicine from the University of Chengtu, China, Mrs. J. E. Lennox, is visiting Sydney, together with_ iier husband, Dr. Lennox, who is assistant professor of medicine at the University. An American by birth, Mrs. Lennox took' the first year or her medical course at the Women's Medical College, Philadelphia, and completed ?i Chengtu. Before this could be accomplished Mrs. Lennox had to take a course in Chinese, m which language most of the lectures were conducted. She and her husband are on eighteen months' leave, and win visit New Zealand shortly on their way to America. Mrs. Dampney (Napier), Mrs. H. Johnson (Melbourne), and Mrs. John Moran (Sydney)'are among the guests at the Hotel St. George. Mesdames P. E. Flood CR. Forth, H. I. Mitchinson (Auckland), P. : J.. Robinson and A. Smellie (Dunedm) are guests at the Grand Hotel. Mrs. Kurtz (Chicago), Mrs. McFarlane (North Canterbury), and Miss Beatty (North Canterbury) are staying at the Midland Hotel. Mrs. L. Gurney (Dunedin), Mrs. J. Wilson (Nelson), Miss J. Crawford and Miss K. Ladbrooke (Auckland) are among the guests at the Empire Hotel.
