In. the county cricket championship matches which were completed today, Sussex beat Surrey on the first innings and Yorkshire beat Derbyshire outright. Other counties which secured full points were Middlesex, Warwickshire, Kent, and Somerset. Centuries were made by Vere-Hodge (Essex), Dollery (Warwickshire), Ames (Kent), Berry (Leicestershire), and Keeton (Nottinghamshire), and also by Hunt (Cambridge University). Among the leading bowlers were Wellard (Somerset), Clay (Glamorgan), and James Langridge (Sussex).

Results are:— Essex v. Middlesex, at Lord's—Essex, 247 (Vere-Hodge 100 not out) and 131 (Sims four for 31). Middlesex, 293 (Compton 87) and 87 for two wickets. Middlesex won by eight wickets. Surrey v. Sussex, at the Oval—Sussex, 324 (James Langridge 93) and 289 for .seven, declared (Cox 125). Surrey, 308 (Gregory 89) and 200 for nine (James Langridge five for 44). Sussex won on the first innings. Warwickshire v. Glamorgan, at Birmingham.— Glamorgan, 198 and 274 (Hollies six for G7). Warwickshire, 290 (Dollery 152; Clay five for 77) and 184 for five wickets (Croom 83 not out). Warwickshire won by five wickets. ' Kent v. Leicestershire, at Leicester. —Kent, 420 (Ames 182) and 47 for one. Leicestershire, 229 (Berry 132), and, following on, 236. Kent won by nine wickets. • . ,_- Nottinghamshire v. Nottinghamshire won on the first innings. Northamptonshire v. Somerset, at Northampton.—Northamptonshire, 101 (Wellard four for 19, Andrews four for 16) and 133 (Wellard six for 62). Somerset, 247. Somerset won by an innings and 13 runs. Derbyshire v. Yorkshire, at Chesterfield.—Derbyshire 248 (Townsend 96) and 106 (Smailes four for 24), Verity four for 30).
