ACROSS COUNTRY

CHAMPIONSHIP DATE

The council of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association decided last night to approve of September 11 as the date for the New Zealand crosscountry championship, the event to be held at Timaru. The reason for the later date is that the Springbok Rugby team will be in Canterbury about the time the event is usually held.

Performances of 55sec for the 440 yards hurdles by A. T. Anderson at Auckland and of 50sec for the 440 yards women's relay, also at Auckland, by the Auckland women's team were approved as records.
