GENEROUS BUYERS
KILBIRNIE CARD PARTY
The social hall and club rooms of the Kilbirnie branch of the Returned Soldiers' Association were filled to capacity last' evening; and as a result of the "Bring and Buy" stall organised by the members, of the ladies' committee, quite a substantial sum was raised as a contribution to the King George V Memorial Fund. The ladies were particularly gratified at the manner of the response to the appeal, the stall being well filled with all kinds of goods, and the buyers were numerous as well as generous.
The card tables were all occupied, and the players keenly contested the games. The prizes for "500" were won by Mrs. S. Farrant and Mr. H. Milsom, and the highest scores for bridge were returned by Mrs. J. W. Appleyard and Mrs. K. Bevan. At the card afternoon held last Thursday for ladies, only the prizes were won'by-Mrs. Stewart and ife^se^fcr'" - ■'«
