The arrangements have now been completed for Wellington's Flag Day tomorrow in honour of the late King George V. This ceremony will mark the climax of the appeal for donations to-the Memorial Fund, and it is hoped that the amount collected will be the greatest since the war. Flags will' be sold in the city and suburbs throughout the day, and at 11 a.m. the first flag will be planted in a plot at the corner of Lamb ton Quay and Molesworth Street by the Acting Prime Minister (the Hon. P. Fraser). He will be followed by the Mayor (Mr. T. C. A. Hislopj and representative citizens.
■ Throughout the day flags will be sold by an organisation of voluntary helpers under the direction of the WelJington Returned Soldiers' Association, and pins to be attached for planting purposes will be available at a special stall close to the "Field of Remembrance." A feature of the event will ,be the pilgrimage, by various organisations in the city, including the ten secondary schools, who, after holding' 'appropriate ceremonies in their own grounds, will send representatives to the field to plant the flags purchased by pupils. Those who buy flags, but who are unable.to plant them personally, are asked to remove the lapel badge and hand them back to the sellers, who have been instructed^ to place them in the plot. The organisers of Flag Day have enlisted the co-operation of the students of Victoria College, who will assist in the cavalcade of transport and the mock court, hi Post Office Square. The revels of the students will not commence until after the procession has passed the memorial plot. A request has been made by the Returned Soldiers' Association that the Wellington Citizens' War Memorial should not be used as a vantage point during the 11 ■ o'clock ceremony or during any event throughout the day.
