ALLEGED RECEIVING
A charge of receiving liquor valued at £7 16s, knowing the same to have been dishonestly obtained, was made against a married woman, Ethel Suridge, aged 49, in the Magistrate's Court today. Mr. E. D. Mosley,' S.M., was on the Bench.
Detective-Sergeant P. Doyle, who prosecuted, said that the defendant, who was a boarding-house keeper, was arrested only yesterday. A receiving charge would be, preferred against her involving a much greater sum. He asked for a remand until June 16, and this was granted.
Bail was fixed at £50, with a similar surety. . *
Lewsly Frederick Keith Suridge,; storeman, aged 29, and a son of the previous defendant, was charged with the theft of liquor, valued at £1 3s 6d, from T. and W. Young. He also was remanded" until June 16 on the same condition. ■
