CHORAL FESTIVAL

JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS

A large congregation was present last night at a choral festival held in the Cambridge Terrace Congregational Church in continuance of the church's jubilee celebrations.

The choir, under the conductorship of Mr. E. Thawley, sang "O Gladsome Light" (Sullivan), "Gloria" (Mozart), and "Song of Thanksgiving" (Maunder). The soloists were Mrs. Trevor Goodwin (soprano), Mrs. E. J. Marshall (contralto), Mr. Frank Bryant (tenor), and Mr. W. G. Lewis (bass). Miss L. Thawley, L.R.S.M., was at the organ.

After the festival, supper was served in the school hall, where greetings were received from neighbouring churches.

The celebrations are to continue until Sunday, when a special thanksgiving service will be held. The preacher at the morning service will be the Rev. H. Johnson, and in the afternoon a young peoples' rally will be held. The evening service will be conducted by the Rev. A. Muriel, minister of the church.
