MOTORING SMASHES

TWO WITHIN FEW WEEKS

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

AUCKLAND, May 27.

For the second time' within a few weeks Mr. and Mrs. G. Dale, of Remuera, have been involved in a motor smash. Recently they spent a month in the Blenheim Hospital as a result of injuries sustained when Mr. Dale was driving on the Lion's Back Hill, Marlborough, and the car left the road, crashing through a wire fence and falling 300 feet. Mrs. Dale suffered a broken arm and was badly bruised, and Mr. Dale received a broken shoulder and severe concussion.

While out.driving yesterday for the first time since their return to Auckland their taxi collided with a large saloon car at the intersection of Domain Street and Graf ton Road. Mr. Dale suffered two broken ribs and Mrs. Dale, who was in the back seat, was badly shaken. Both were treated at home by their own doctor. Their daughter Geraldine, aged 14, was admitted to hospital with concussion and in a serious condition Mrs. Neville Dickey, aged 20, was also taken to the hospital with a possible fracture of the pelvis. Her condition this afternoon is satisfactory.
