MAKARA COUNTY

The balance-sheet of the Makara County Council disclosed that the county is in a sound financial position, said the retiring chairman (Mr. R. G. Mr. Mexted retired from the chairmanship, and Councillors E. Windley and J. Purchase were nominated for the position, Councillor Windley being elected by 5 votes to 3.
