AMONG THE VEGETABLES
This is the season^ for a general clean up. Where possibH iome part of thevegetable plot-should be dug two spits deep each year, at the same time working1 iin as much vegetable matter, weeds, grass, etc., as is -available.' Be careful to burn any diseased material as well as perennial ■weeds,-such as docks, convolvulus, etc. ; Soil' which 'was. well manured last season will be the better for a liming this year and vice versa. When-digging^ leave the clods unbroken as this gives a larger surface lor the elements—rain, frost, and wind—to work on, thus sweetening the soil. .
