OLD! BtfYS' ASSOCIATION

ANNUAL MEETING

The annual meeting of the Wellington College Old Boys' Association was held at Wellington College last even, ing; Mr; L. McKenzie presiding.',.'■-.. Speaking toihe motion.for" the adoption of the annual report and balancesheet; extracts from which have been published in "The Post," Mr. R,. Darroch : congratulated - the associatipn on the number of branches that had been formed. .He-said he thought that' an ■Australian brahch.;cpuld be formed, and expressed -the .opinion that there must be a large number of old boys in the: Commonwealth. Mr. Darroch thought that the annual dinner should be revived. This, he pointed out, was a .feature of the association's activities some years ago. He also thought that Old Boys' Day should be an all-day fixture, and not restricted merely to an afternoon. Mr. R. Roberts said he believed that a live branch could be formed in Sydney, where many old boys resided. The headmaster (Mr. W. A. Armour) said that he had consulted the school records, and had estimated that some 344 boyshad attended the college from the Wairairapa during the last 68 years. The records, however, were not complete. There was every indication that the Wairarapa branch would be a very live branch. An important feature of this year Was the inter-college football tournament, which was to be held in Wellington. He thanked the old boys for their help during the year. Mr. L. McKenzie said that as president of the association and as chairman oi the Board of Governors he had received the loyal support of the principals and the staffs. Mr. Armour could rest assured that the old boys would do their part at the football tournament. The election of officers resulted:— President, Mr. L. McKenzie; honorary secretary, Mr. W. W. Cook; assistant honorary secretary, Mr. H. Desborough; honorary treasurer, Mr. 8.0. Binnie; honorary auditor, Mr. O. G. Kember; committee, Colonel R. St. J. Beere, and Messrs. R. Darroch, C. A. Innes, A. W. Duncan, H. Chote, T. E. Beard, T..8. Nelson, C. D. A. George, A. L. George, and C. D. Macdonald.
