G. C. McCaul, president of the Associated . Chambers of Commerce, and a past president of the Wellington Chamber, ■ said that he wished to pay r. tribute to the enormous amount of work done by Sir Charles for Wellington and the Dominion generally. The establishment of the municipal milk supply and'the Free Ambulance were tangible results of Sir Charles's worthy endeavours.
'.'. Mr. R. H. Nimmo supported the motion, and stated that :there' had been. no more, popular honour conferred in recent years. .Great service's had been given to the city by Sir Charles Norwood. He paid a tribute to the work carried out by Lady Norwood.
In reply, Sir. Charles thanked the chamber for its good wishes, and said that he was- particularly: gratified at the reference that had been made to Lady Norwood. The unanimous approval with which the honour had been received was a source of gratification to Lady. Norwood and himself. (Applause.) .' .
