State Theatre Tomorrow.
As a means to' prevent Seaman Preston Foster from marrying his daughter, Chief Bosuns mate Victor McLaglen, of the United States Coast Guard, has the sailor court-m,artialled in R.K.O.Radio's tingling drama of romance and adventure. "Sea Devils." coming tomorrow to the State Theatre. The daughter is pretty Ida Lupino, and Donald Woods proves to-be a formidable rival to his shipmate, Foster, for McLaglen's daughter's affections. Realising that Foster is a happy-go-lucky sailor, like himself, McLaglen makes no bones about opposing Foster's suit for Miss •Lupino, and the enmity between the pair flares into physical combat several times. Embellishing the spicy romance are several scenes showing the hazardous duties of the Coast Guard including rescuing imperilled lives from sinking vessels at sea. Supporting the principal players in important roles are Gordon Jones, Helen Flint, Pierre Watk;n. Murray Alper, and Billy Gilbert. McLaglen and Foster are cast toeether again after a memorable association in the' prize-winning 'screen play, of 1935. ''The Informer." ■ McLaglen ' won the Academy award that year for his performance.
