A British cable company has recently signed a contract, the value of which is some £300,000, with the Soviet Trade Delegation for the supply of telephone communication equipment between Moscows and Khabarovsk. The distance is around 6000 miles, or equal to that between London and San Francisco. The link will be the longest of its kind in the world.
