In the county cricket championship series, "Much was completed today, outright wins were obtained by Lancashire, Essex, Glamorgan, .and Derbyshire, ' while among other results of interest was the defeat of Yorkshire by Sussex on. the first innings of a high-scoring match. Parks 104). Sussex won on the first innings. Lancashire v. Warwickshire, at Manchester.—Lancashire, 358 for six, declared (Hopwood 98). Warwickshire, 124 (Sibbles five for 31) and, following on, 110 (Pollard four for 44). Lancashire Avon by an innings and 124 runs. Essex v. Hampshire, at Portsmouth. — Essex, 149 (Herman five for 57) and 281 (Nichols 120). Hampshire, 136 and 192 (P. Smith six for 34). Essex won by 102 runs. Leicestershire v. Somerset, at Leicester,—Leicestershire, 92 (Buse five for 18) and 246. Somerset, 186 (Smith five for 84) and 123 for eight (Smith six for 34). Somerset won on the .first innings. ' ! Nottinghamshire won on the first innings. Surrey v. Gloucestershire, at Bristol. —Surrey, 399 for nine, declared (Sandham 140) and 259 for seven. Gloucestershire, 389 (Neale 84, Crapp 99). Surrey won on the first innings. Northamptonshire v. Glamorgan, at Peterborough.—Northamptonshire, 84 (Mercer four for 23) and 77 (Clay seven £or 43). Glamorgan, 215 for eight, declared (Jupp four for 47). Glamorgan won by an innings and 54 runs. Derbyshire v. Kent, at Derby.— Derbyshire, 239 (Alderman 89, Wright six for 73) and 88 (Watt six for 34). Kent, 100 (G. Pope four for 32) and 145 (G,, Pope four for. 26). Derbyshire won by 82 runs. Middlesex v.
