EASTBOURNE'S EFFORT
"The note in Monday's 'Post,'" said the Mayor of Eastbourne, Mr.E.W. Wise, today, "was all too- -flattering about my part in Saturday's kindlingwood sale, on behalf of the- King George V • Memorial Fund. What I did was to bring the wood from the Fordworks. All the work in connection with the sale was done by Mr.. P. Lowndes, well-known, to Wellington and Eastbourne as 'Uncle Toby;' I am happy to be able to say . that three other motor firms—Dominion Motors, General Motors, and Magnus Motors—have also., generously contributed a lorry load of case wood, the sale of which will also be carried out by Mr. Lowndes;" •■■•■'•. ■•.'..•■-■ "I anticipate that the local fund will benefit by between £10 and £15. Such has been the voluntary response already that the East Harbour objective of £200 will certainly be achieved by June 3." . .-. . ,■■■', .
