COMMR. MAPP'S STATEMENT

LONDON, May 24. Leaders of the Salvation Army conferred and decided not to make any official rejoinder to the statement .by Commissioner Henry Mapp, the dismissed Chief of Staff. Commissioner Mapp states that the writs which have been served on General Evangeline Booth and the new Chief of Staff, Commissioner John McMillan, were issued by a third party and relate to a question apart from h\s dismissal. . The "Daily Mail" says that the writs were issued by Miss Peggy Laurie, a 42-year-old London dressmaker and daughter of a former Salvation Army commissioner. She\has known Commissioner and Mrs. Mapp all her life.
