ELECTRICIANS' DI6PUTE
The dispute between the Wellington Electrical Industrial, Union of Workers arid the Wellington City Corporation, which was adjourned on January 18, was resumed today before the Conciliation Commissioner, Mr. M. J. Reardon. Mr. H. E. Swindell, agent for the employees, pointed out that the workers were not responsible for the length of the adjournment of the dispute. Owing to circumstances over which they had no control, it was not possible to arrange the resumed hearing at an earlier date. v No agreement was reached on the question of v«a"ges, the principal clause outstanding, and the matter was referred to the Court.. The respondents offered 2s 6d an hour for journeymen and the workers said they would not accept less than.2s 8d an hour.' It was. agreed that any journeyman or linesman in charge of three or more men should be paid Is 6d a day in addition to the ordinary wages.
