(From "The Post's" Representative.) ■ 'Still another party for two popular, brides-elect, - Misses P. ': Wylds and E. Ford,' of Makirikiri, was given at Mrs. A. P. Shield's home at Papaiti, which was ideal for the afternoon arranged by Misses".U. Shield, L. Bartrum, and M. Georgetti. Clock golf, miniature golf, arid skittles competitions . were some 'of the' interesting games, and many pretty gifts were opened by .the two.guests of honour. Afternoon tea was served on the wide verandah, and the opportunity was taken <by. Miss Bartrum's friends to present her with. a farewell' gift,, for she leaves next week for England. /'>., ' <■■ ; , Coronation. Day. : ; ■."': Wanganui, ,in ; common with other cities J and, towns in New Zealand, is, making plans for the adequate celebration of Coronation Day. Coloured electric, lights, strung over, thejnain streets,, bunting on. public pfflces, and on private '< buildings have .been planned; and a big meeting of representatives of . every activity is to be called to consider the actual form of 'the; day's celebration. The old girls of Wanganui Girls' -College, have arranged that their annual ball, shall be held that, evening. .. ■";:..:.., Golf Clubs Begin Flay. ¥ ...All the Wanganui golf clubs have commenced their 1937.season. , The Wanganui Golf Club has the highest membership yet. recorded, and the , Wanganui Ladies' Club is 'considering the advisability of having :two draws a week, the membership has increased to such an extent. The women's club opened on Wednesday in brilliant weather, and at the conclusion of play the members' were entertained, at afternoon tea by the president, Mrs. Montgomerie Moore.. ■■■■■: . :■. '■■;'■ Tennis Championships. -' : ■ The: junior lawn tennis- championships of the Wanganui district, unfortunately, have had to be- postponed owing to the infantile paralysis epidemic. The, Wanganui Lawn -^Tennis Association intend to hold the events later in. the year, and the ages will be as .on April 3. ■ Wanganui W.D.F.U. .* The Wanganui . branch . of . the Women's Division held its annual garden party at Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Blyth's home, "Harakeke." The big garden- was ablaze with autumn flowers, and the large trees provided welcome shade. The afternoon was ideal, on Thursday for an outdoor, function.. . . Golden Wedding. Mr. J. Williams, J.P., and Mrs. Williams celebrated their golden wedding this 'week by a family dinner party! at' their St. John's, Hill home. , Personals* ' Mrs. E. Newland-Fletcher, sen., hostess for Overseas League Headquarters, London, is visiting Mrs. James McGregor at Sedgebrook. Miss Carrad is visiting Wellington, to attend the Griffiths-Nicol wedding.

Miss Montgomery Moore leaves .for Wellington and Christchurch today. ■.'.'
For the past few .months efforts have been made,by Messrs. C. R. White and J. Toomarth to raise a fund with'which to buy memorial windows for the new Native.church at Putiki. The windows are" to be placed there in memory of the lafe Rev. A. O. Williams, a former, superintendent of the Maori Mission in this district, and of Mrs: Williams.; So far £50 has been collected of the amount needed.
