CORROBOREE'S DOUBLE WIN
Corroboree gave; further illustration to the generally-accepted rule that the Lord Quex breed is a solid breed when it is in form. As on .the first day, Corroboree opened a big break on his opponents, and nothing could, ever get within true striking range. .T,he.only. runner capable of malting an atttempt to close the gap was Myriam, but she found the job a futile one. -- t •■■■'■ Corroboree has been a-long time in 'striking form and his progress to winning form was through a succession of seconds, but now he is fight at last he is liable to-go on to still more, important deeds. ' Trophies for. owners,-Messrs. A.' W. Akers 'and J. Hughes; trainer, T.'.L; Wilson; and, rider, G. R; Tattersall, were ■ attached to this race' and ■ were presented after, the ..contest.'. ...:.. , . Myriam ran a fine race,, but; found the winner's- improvement too solid- a proposition ■ for her present prowess. She left the. others- in what proved forlorn pursuit at the half-mile; and she wound up as easily second as she was beaten. Mrs. W. A; Fuller should win good prizes yet with this mare. Maestro ran patchily,- but he came along fast at the end -to secure third money. Good Sun, always fairly handy, was a close- fourth. ; The .'favourite,Brazen King, could make no impression at any stage and he stayed fifth. or thereabouts all-the way. Soho was not. disgraced -under his■ big■ weight/ for it-was a solid pace for any-hack class. Happy Hunting, kept up on this occasion, tired at the end. r
