GELIGNITE EXPLOSION

(Special to the "Evanlng Post.") MASTERTON, This Day. A farm labourer named James Diamond was found with his head blown off on Saturday night, m a; cottage on a property at Gladstone, where he had been employed. Mr. Diamond was a native of Ireland and was 51 years of age. The indications pointed to gelignite being used.- .

It is-stated that the deceased had been very, depressed, and had not been working since he returned from . a holiday last week.; The report of the explosion was heard over a wide area, and the side of the cottage was blown out. The late Mr. Diamond was a single man and had no known relatives in the Dominion. He had worked about the Masterton district for a number of years. An inquest will ba held. . ■:-■■■■■
