Thomas, successfully transmitted to, Vermont, U.S.A., heart* beats recorded by means of thephonostethograph. The signals were completely readable in full volume. ~, This is hailed as the .first step . .to wards radio medical •consultations..; A London cable on March 22 stated ■ that the research laboratory at King's | College Hospital had perfected a new / device, the phono-stethograph, which records heart-beats on- phonograph discs, which are replayable for, purposes of diagnosis.- It was hopedi to extend the scope of the device r:.to wireless transmission, enabling a heart case at sea to be treated ' from < the shore. . !- ■ .' • '<•'■■■■:
