V.M.C.A. LADIES' AUXILIARY
. The . Wellington' ' members . of the .V.M.C.A. ladies'. auxiliary .were guests at, the home of .Mr...and .Mrs. W. J. Mason,: Waterloo. Road, Lower Hutt. The day: .was> perfect -and the outing enjoyed by some seventy ladies. The function took the'form of a ."bring and buy," arid the funds, of the ladies' auxiliary will materially benefit as a result! . ' ..' '.' ', . .;
The members were welcomed by the four hostesses, Mesdames W. J. Mason, R. H. Nimmo, E. P. Hay, arid G. R. Millwar,d, and the drawing- and diningrooms, hall, and. sun porch v were filled with happy friends of the association. Mesdames G. R. Millward and R. Janson' rendered songs, while Mrs. Lowe and Miss Theo Smith gave recitations.*" Miss Iris Mason was accompanist..
A "treasure hunt" was held in the garden, and the "treasure" was unearthed by Mrs.,A. E. W, Lythberg. Brisk business was conducted at the stall, and a home-made afternoon tea was served.
Mrs. L. J. Greenberg (president of the ladies' auxiliary) thanked the hostesses for their hospitality,1 also the entertainers and ladies who had assisted in; every way. All agreed that the afternoon had been both pleasurable and profitable, and the wonderful weather added much to the enjoyment of the puting.

M-- Schrader, J. O. Priestley, Battersby (2), Doneghue (2), Vinsen, Woodward, R. S. Maunder, J. Vernon, Henley, Boyton, A. E. Lythberg, L. Millar, Wearne, C. Connor, A. Donovan, H. L. Cooper, Frisken, H. J. Wood, Robt. Hall, and Misses Iris Mason, N. Donovan, Wilson, Hannay,' and Helliwell.
A nineteenth-century evening" gown, with a full skirt, trimmed • with petal ruffles and bows, is one of Louisbdulanger's latest models. Cut-away jackets long at the back are another departure.
