NGAIO SUB-BRANCH
The annual meeting of the Ngaib Sub-branch of the Plunket Society was held in the Methodist Schoolroom. The Rev.'.D. D: Scott was in the chaiy, Visitors from the central committee, were Miss Ward, Miss Cameron, and Mrs. -Ti Gray. Members of the Khandallah committee were also present. Miss Ward spoke eg? financial matters of the Wellington branch. The balancesheet showed satisfactory results 'for the year's work. Tile sub-branch placed on record jits appreciation of the good work done by Nujrse Paynter in the district, as .evidenced by the large number of mothers who attended a farewell afternoon receritlj? for itfurse Paynter before her departure on leave for England. Appreciation was also expressed of those wtic make' theii; cars available for the nurse on her visits to the homes. Keen regret was felt upon receiving the resignation of Mrs. Jerram fv who, for the Jast two years has been hoh. secretary and treasurer, and who also worked on the committee, and gave, it hejr greatest support".ever sine* its inception. ' ' Mrs. F. Ffitch, Khandallah,.spoke of interesting incidents in connection with child welfare, noted during her recent visit to India. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mrs. G. Littlejohn; committee, Mesdames Guy, Lance Hills, Chatwin, McKmstry, Pranks, Stewart,-Morgan, Thackwell, Stansfleld, Salton, Bradshaw. An auxiliary committee was also formed.
