WEDDING PARTY

A DELIGHTFUL FUNCTION

WellingtPn College has been, the centre of many cheerful and delightful occasions in its time, but • seldom has there been a more happy time spent there, than yesterday, afternoon, when Mr. Armour (principal of the college) and Mrs.* Armour entertained about 300 of their friends at a-"five o'clock party" in the college .hall, which, large as it is, was not too big for the occasion. There were masses of beautiful flowers, the many friends of the host and hostess having sent them a wealth of floral offerings. Gilded baskets adorned the front of the stage with ' handsome hydrangeas, gladioli, asters, dahlias, and delicate greenery, 'all artistically arranged. On the top of the piano were arranged bouquets and bowls, and a number of cellophane holders contained other lovely blooms.' Carnations were specially featured in these last, and very beautiful they were.

Numerous letters- : of congratulation were also read, Napier High School being specially well represented in letters and telegrams. Later, . Mr. and Mrs:, Armour were "arrested" by prefects representing each year that they have been at the college, arid escorted to the stage, after which all present drank their health with musical honours. Mr. Armour, in an amusing speech, thanked all for their expressions of good will. Songs were sung by Mr. T. G. Hislop and Mr. Wakeford, and were much appreciated.
