OBITUARY
MR. WILLIAM SALMONS
Mr. W. Salmons, a'pioneer 'settler of. Horowhenua,. died. .'.at., Levin' on Thursday, .aged 75, writes "The Post's" Levin correspondent. ' Mr.-;. Salmons took up residence- in ,the .district nearly , fifty years ago, living first at Man akau and subsequently, at Levin. .' He was born in the Ohariu Valley, married Miss Rachael Parsons of Wellington ,in: 1885, and resided in the Hutt Valley prior to .going to Horowhenua. Mr. Salmons, who was an active member of the Foresters' Lodge, was pre-deceased .by his- wife.two years ago. He. is survived by three daughters," Mesdames. A. R. ; Ransom," J. ,T.- Oak, and W. Bignail, and two sons; Messrs. W.; S. and L. R Salmons; all of ■Levin. There are two sisters, Mesdames H.. Gilbert, of Pahiatua, and F.-.Paul > ~of Upper Hutt, and two brothers,.. Messrs. J..Salmons, of 'Palmerston .North, and H. Salmons, of Upper Hutt. There are fifteen grandchildren' and one greatgrandchild.
