LATE MR. W. H. MAOELEY

'} There was a.large and.representative gathering at the'flineral ,of,:Mr; W. H. .Madeley-. yesterday .afternoon. ' The ■service at St..Mark's Church]was. .conducted by. the vicar, .the Eey. N,F. E. Robertshawe, who. referred, to the loyal: help.Mr. Madeley had' given the1 church, over:a long period,of::years. -In -numerous unostentatious ways he had displayed great generosity, and 'right up tothe time of his death had taken a keea.-and practical interest; not only, in the activities of the church, but in St.'Mark's School; of which he was secretary. .;He' and Mrs. :Madeley had rendered to both institutions invaluable service, over .fifty years of their;married life. . ,:

The service at the church was choral, 'the hymns being "On the Resurrection Mprning" and "The-King of Life My Shepherd is." The .choir and the churchwardens preceded '.-'the' coffin down the church, and children of St. Mark's School paid'their last respects by lining; the'pathway between, the church and:the gate. ; -.-:.:■->:-\- :::■
