FALL IN BIRTH-RATE
DRASTIC PLAN IN ITALY
ROME, March 1.
Drastic measures to counter the falling birthrate will be discussed by the Fascist Grand Council with a view to immediate adoption. The proposals are:—A five-fold increase in the bachelor tax, confiscation of the property of childless niarried couples at death, and extension of the bachelor tax to couples with families not exceeding one.
