PLEASANT FAREWELL
An enjoyable afternoon was spent on Saturday when upwards of fifty mothers and students met in the studio of Miss Marjorie Vause to bid "bon voyage" to one of their'members, Miss Mary. Kerridge, who is leaving by the Rangitiki for a visit to England. The tables were tastefully decorated with mauve and pink asters and, gladioli, and presented a very gay appearance when all the children in bright paper hats were seated. \ Mrs. J. Kerridge was presented with a beautiful bouquet by little-Veronica Tilkian (the youngest pupil in the studio). Miss Vause, in one of her, pleasant little speeches, expressed the warm affection and good wishes of1 everyone towards '• the guest of honour, and presented her with a handsome; brush, comb, and mirror on behalf of the mothers and students.
, A dainty' tea was served, after which games and "competitions kept the guests entertained, and .the singing of "Auld Lang Syne" ended a very happy party. . Those present included Mesdames Boe, Fleming, Boyd, Tofts, Montgomery; Hughes, Vause, ' Baker, Arthur, Major, ;and' Tilkian;- Misses Heyworth, Williamson, Liverton, Joan Fleming, Merle Brahm, Joan and Jean Boyd, Zane Wilton, Poppy Falconer, Shirley Montgomery, Moira, Teresa, and Sheila Hughes, Irene Kerridge, .Jean Cassoy, Claire and Mabel Arthur, Rene Ewen, Margaret Boe, Nola Proctor, Patsy Brown, Joyce Morgan, Ann Boe, Shirley McDonald, Mabel and Claire ■ Arthur, Philomine' Tilkian, Messrs. Keith Major, Harry Baker, Steve Kerridge, and Tom Petherick.
